Activity: Full-time

Reporting to: EVP of Games (Chief Games Officer)


Mission: As the Director of Games Growth at Esports World Cup Foundation in the Games department, you will play a crucial role in building and overseeing the Games Growth team. You will be responsible for enabling the growth of the EWCs key KPIs, viewership & visitors, as well as finding new ways to build win-win partnerships with publishers.


Key Responsibilities

  • You will lead the Games Growth team, guiding their development and ensuring their success
  • You will build and manage relationships mainly with the “non-esports” teams within a publisher, especially marketing and business development
  • You will facilitate the communication between EWCF (Esports, Marketing, and Community teams) and publishers
  • You will be responsible for growing the impact of games on Esports World Cup core KPIs:

1. Games Marketing (Reach/Visitors and in-game visibility)

  • Reach: You will build and execute marketing strategy using games reach and their associated channels (in-game / out-of-game) to foster sustainable EWC fan communities and support the growth of our viewership
  • Visitors: You will build and execute a strategy on how to integrate game titles into the Esports World Cup festival with a goal of attracting visitors from all over the world

2. Games Commercialization (in-game monetization, licensing, collaborations)

  • Commercial-In-game: You will develop new revenue streams by implementing item-revenue share strategies with games that will be part of the EWC
  • Commercial Festival: You will work closely with publishers on integrating them into the Esports World Cup Festival. You will be responsible for the financial contribution of publishers to the EWC festival


Education, Experience, Skills

  • 4+ years of experience in leadership roles within the esports/gaming industry with the ability to develop long-term strategies
  • 3+ years of experience in people management and building teams
  • University degree or equivalent in business and/or marketing
  • Prior experience of working at a game publisher/developer
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills in English


Competencies in technical and personal areas

  • Familiarity with in-game monetization tactics and revenue-sharing models
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and building revenue models via marketing channels
  • Good understanding of the esports industry and its current trends
  • Very good communication skills and ability to negotiate agreements between EWCF and publishers/developers
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders


Nice to have experience and skills

  • Prior experience of working on gaming events. Knowledge of how to integrate game titles into events or festivals to attract visitors
  • Good understanding of licensing models
