Job Purpose: The Games Growth team aims to increase the reach of game titles by building sustainable fan communities and growing viewership for the Esports World Cup. Additionally, the team attracts on-site visitors by integrating game titles into the EWC creating a strong appeal for local and global audiences. As Manager Games Growth (Commercial) you will drive commercial success through strategic partnerships with game publishers and developers. You will develop new models and ways to collaborate with those partners that generate new revenue streams, expand our game portfolio, and increase the overall appeal of the Esports World Cup.


Duties and Responsibilities

Partnership Development and Revenue Generation:

  • Act as a liaison between the publisher and the Esports World Cup Foundation's team and commercial unit.
  • Build and maintain successful commercial partnerships with publishers to create valuable in-game campaigns for the EWC
  • Work closely with the commercial team to ensure deliverables and opportunities with our brand partners are carried out for each game’s competition at the EWC
  • Identify and develop new revenue streams with publishers through additional brand integrations, festival activations, in-game promotional campaigns (in-game branding, communication & digital items)
  • Negotiate and structure mutually beneficial partnerships with game publishers that align with the strategic goals of the EWC

Festival Portfolio and Visitor Growth:

  • Identify opportunities to expand the game portfolio featured at the Esports World Cup, with the aim of attracting a broader audience and driving more on-site visitors.
  • Work with the EWC Festival team and game publishers to conceptualize and build engaging and meaningful on-site activations.
  • Manage a portfolio and pipeline of opportunities with game publishers and developers for the EWC Festival.
  • Support on the creation of B2B promotional material for the Esports World Cup.

Business Model Development:

  • Develop and implement viable business models that bring publishers onto the festival platform, while simultaneously increasing the festival’s overall attractiveness with the goal to increase on site visitors year over year.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and consumer behavior to inform business strategy and partnership opportunities.
  • Analyze data to track the performance of monetization strategies, identifying areas for improvement and optimizing future initiatives
  • Regularly report on progress, key performance indicators, and outcomes to senior leadership.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in live-ops, business development, partnerships, or a related role within the gaming industry.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience of working for AAA-game publishers
  • Proven track record of building and managing successful commercial partnerships.
  • Existing network within the gaming and esports industry, especially with publishers and developers.
  • Deep knowledge and experience with direct in-game activations such as digital items campaigns, brand integrations and best practices within this area.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Experience in developing commercial frameworks and business models with commercial partners.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders all over the world.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
