Job Purpose: The Esports World Cup Foundation is seeking an experienced, autonomous, and passionate Games Manager who can demonstrate a vast knowledge of the gaming & esports landscape in the Americas market. While providing top tier insights from the industry, the ideal candidate is a gamer at heart who’s worked within the gaming and/or esports industry, is a strong self-driven individual who strives for nothing but the best and is well organized. As the Games Manager, your primary role is to enable and strengthen relationships with relevant counterparts of game publishers and developers. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate across internal units, in-depth understanding of the relevant publishers and their games and a strategic mindset to contribute to the success and growth of the esports program.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Enable open communication channels for esports, commercial, and marketing to help grow and develop the EWC (build commercial success and enable community / brand growth)
- Identify, own, and track EWCF needs that require publisher support & input
- Support creating and operationalizing partnerships with your assigned publishers across all relevant fields Prepare materials for license / partnership negotiations in close collaboration with other internal units and make sure they are being operationalized accordingly
- Enable fast, holistic, and solution-oriented publisher communications
- Build trustful relationships with individual stakeholders of the respective publishers
- Ensure all publishers’ requirements and needs (technical, logistical, rights, etc.) are in place
- Build publisher evaluation survey & report post-program
- Own and manage a database of high-potential titles and publishers
- Assist and build a model to create a scorecard-based evaluation of existing and new games, to support short, mid, and long-term game portfolio development
- Support the growth of the publishers' network
Support day-to-day relations with relevant counterparts of Game publishers
Collaborate & work with publishers to ensure top-notch game integration into the EWC
Analyze new, existing, and upcoming game publishers & developers
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience (publisher, gaming sector or consultancy
- 6+ years of relevant experience in project management and account management in the gaming industry, preferably at a AAA publisher
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Prior experience in managing Americas markets
- Strong existing network within the gaming industry
- Passion for the gaming and esports industry
- Excellent networking and communication skills
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving project and organizational goals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Very good written and verbal communication skills in English, additional strong communication skills in other relevant languages are a plus
